Chambers Goodwin and Partners (CGP), Rickmansworth, UK

CGP was originally established in 1983 and is registered as a Chartered Practice with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). The practice provides architectural, town planning, project management services and sustainability advice. It is now located at Rickmansworth, just inside the M25. The practice has handled some 200 projects since its foundation spread throughout the South East of England and Greater London, principally in social housing, student housing, key worker housing, schools and community projects, and mostly for public sector clients. Our largest recent project is the £22m development at North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke of which the first £11m phase of staff housing is completed. Two other recent projects exceeded £15m and we regularly handle projects over £5m. 6 years ago we completed a new church hall in West London with a PV array on its roof part funded by Government grant. This near “zero carbon” building was a prime example of good practice for its time. Many of its lessons have been used in our subsequent design but it was only in early 2009 that we fully embraced Passivhaus and launched PDS in collaboration with r-m-p. For more details see www.cgparchitects.com
